Visualisation - The Highway Rat

Visualisation is creating  pictures in your head. This helps understand what we read.

Highway Rat is about a rat who is greedy and steals food. He learns a lesson and everyone lives happily.

My Visualisation is different to other because I did little bit of a design for it.

We have different Visualisation because our mind was different.

Place Value & Saying Numbers

 Place Value is a system that group numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit determins its value. When we say numbers we group then within the same house. For example 15709 has fifteen thousand, seven hundred & nine ones.

Understanding our base 10 Place Value system allows us to pronounce big number properly. It also allows us to identify numbers before after. 

Mihi Whakatau

Mihi Whakatau is a Maori term for a formal greeting.

Mihi Whakatau is traditionally used for welcoming introductions and openings. It is undertaken by the Tangata Whenua (local inhabits).

The Mihi needs to acknowledge the significant aspeds to the place. The Maunga (mountain), Awa (river), and Iwi (tribe) are generally used.

Introducing Ingoa (name), Oku Tipuna (ancestral place) and where you live is important for the audience to understand the position of the speaker.

Manuhiri is the term used to describe or group the visitors that are being welcomed.

It is important to end with warm visitors so the visitors know that there is no hostility in 2 groups being together.

Being respectful of the land, the people and the purpose of a visit will ensure long lasting relationships and connections.

Basic Fact Boxes

 I learnt Basic Facts Boxes.

First we go to the sheet boxes and we have a stopwatch.

Next we answered all of the questions and then we put them in a slide.

Last we wrote our basic facts boxes and stopwatch time. 

I didn't get one wrong because I trained a lot. Next time I will try to answer the questions faster.

AFL Training

We went to the field and meet coach Jack and we did skills in Aussie Rules.

First we were shown how to pass the ball and then we practised.

Next I learned how to kick the ball and we practised that, as you can see in the picture.

Last we used our passing skills to play octopus.

We played kicking the ball to hit the teacher or coach.

I enjoy playing octopus using Aussie Rules passing.

LS1 Treaty

We learnt about the 3 Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi and how they apply to our learning.

First Mr Ogilvie introduce the 3 Ps in the Treaty of Waitangi.

Then in groups we wrote statements about the 3 Ps in LS1.

LS1 figure it out the 3 Ps are all connected

After that we used our group ideas and thought about how they connected to me.

I choose these 3 statement because they will help me be successful with my learning in LS1.

Prototec

 I learnt about Prototec.

First I got to stage 5 and answer all of my question.

Next I take the screenshot all of my question and put it on my slide.

Last I write the slide to finish my work.

 I need to practice on my addition 100.

Handwriting

 I learned how to write the alphabet, numbers and symbols properly.

I watch a video to show neat handwriting. I wrote the characters neatly into my writing book.

I need to improve  lower case p, number 9 and u.

Print Design Rules

 I learnt about the Print Design Rules.

First Mr Wong taught us about the main aspect of the Print Design Rules, colour, layout, text, composition.

Next, I figured out which poster were good and bad with my partners.

Last I reorganised a poster to make it look good.

I learnt how to make the imagine in the outline.

 

Cultural Art

 I completed cultural art which is a Philippine Bee.

 I preferred to use google drawing. I choose the Philippine Bee because I love honey.

Firstly, I traced the body of the pattern to make me easier how to draw a Philippine Bee.

Then I traced the head and the wings as well

Lastly, I put some colour to the entire body and i changed the colour of the wings into cyan and white

I enjoyed this activity because I learn how to make a cultural art through he google drawing
